Am I the only one who's terribly unimpressed by a lot of the DD in the Graphic Design category?

Call me crazy, but all this crap is completely unoriginal and doesn't show me an ounce of knowledge of how fonts work or if one is really getting the gist of what he/she is learning in his/her classes.

If I submitted some of the stuff that I see for DD for an assignment at school, my professors would throw a hissy fit.

What ever happened to doing stuff by hand...?

Am I just really old fashioned? Am I the only person who thinks this? Or is there someone playing a cruel joke? Ugh, I'm disgusted.
